The Big Preview: Derby Della Madonnina

It’s only week three and somehow we already have to contend with the merda. Neither of us has been particularly exciting and yet Inter have miraculously annexed the tag of favourites...

Sinisa Mihajlovic is a great friend of Roberto Mancini. During the week, he challenged the Inter coach to a wager that would see the derby winners donating to an organisation dealing with the current migrant crisis. It was a move that made me notice that not only had we landed a great coach, but a great man.

Andrea Bertolacci Out Of The Derby With Injury

Andrea Bertolacci

The midfielder picked up a problem whilst on international duty, and scans have showed an injury that at the very least rules him out of the derby.

Bertolacci has not had the best of times since joining, failing woefully so far to show himself anywhere near a €20m man.

Balotelli's License Suspended After Being Caught Speeding

Balotelli has been as subdued as Balotelli can ever be, yet already he seems to have jumped into trouble.

Numerous reports claim the forward's licence has been confiscated after he was caught speeding in Brescia, where he grew up.

AC Milan 2-1 Empoli: Adriano The Hero As Rossoneri Battle To First Win Of The Season

The Ultras chased Berlusconi away from the game that ended up being a scrappy three points for Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side.

The President was scheduled to make an appearance but stayed away after the Curva announced they would be protesting his right hand man, our beloved Uncle Fester.

A.C Milan-Napoli Preview

Week 4 of Serie A sees Rafa’s Partenopei travel to San Siro to tackle us in a game most Milanisti understandably have trepidations about. I’m one of such, of course, because if our tedious style of play, uninspiring manager, and eternal injury list is not enough to put the fear of God in you then I do not know what will.

Milan come into this game on the back of a 2-0 win over Celtic in the CL. Celtic are supposed to have played us off the park for large parts of the game but the end result is that they lost. So while everyone is going off spouting how they deserved more and all that, nobody is going to remember that in a year’s time, only that they lost. I remember several games against provincial sides where Milan huffed and puffed and eventually lost, and I don’t remember anyone saying we deserved more, so this eternal fawning over Celtic really counts for nothing; and whilst I’m certainly concerned about how a technically limited Scottish team played us off the park, I could live without the rest of the world pretending they played like Barcelona and lost, because they didn’t.

Preview Milan-PSV Eindhoven: A season in 180 minutes.

Date: 20 August 2013
Time: 1845 GMT
Venue: Phillips Stadion, Eindhoven, Netherlands

Milan tackle our season opener tomorrow in a game that’s much more than just a game, needing a good result in order to avoid an elimination that would most certainly put a blight on the rest of the season and lead to the loss of a huge chunk of revenue this ‘year one’ Milan needs.

The opponents are PSV Eindhoven, currently top of the Eredivisie after three games of the season so far. Aside Fernabache, they were probably the worst possible draw and true to form, Milan promptly drew them; in much the same vein that Barcelona have become perennial opponents over recent years.
