Conte, mastermind of the revival in Turin
The Old Lady of Italian football,Juventus have a rich and impressive history in calcio. They have won the Scudetto more times than any Italian club,27 times to be exact.
In recent times they have fallen on hard times;much like Milan prior to last season, due to the Calciopoli scandal in 2006.Which is why it was refreshing seeing how they were building up towards this season:the new stadium in Turin, the appointment of Conte and marquee signings, and the new found determination to do well after two mediocre seasons;it felt good to have one of the heavyweights of Italian football back, until they beat us.
Admittedly,Juventus totally dominated the game and although both goals were fortuitous, they was hardly any question they deserved them. However, there have been calls on how Juventus are favourites for the Scudetto;how the Milan clubs don't stand any chance and that times have caught up with us and some assorted other bullshit!!
We started the season poorly, admittedly, but we had a ton of players missing. What most people are missing also is that we dropped points against Lazio,Napoli,Udinese, and Juventus. Not exactly ideal, but those are the big boys and considering our condition, these were excusable.Juve have drawn three games already;against Bologna,Catania, and Chievo, for the most 'in form' team in Italy, that's hardly good enough!
Over the past couple of games,we've shown what we can do with our full squad. For all the hullabaloo about what a DISASTROUS start we made to the season,we are only 4 points behind them, hardly a calamity. So if they are our biggest obstacle towards retaining our crown,I say bring it on!!!
Juventus;I ain't worried..........
