Milan-Roma Preview
(Midweek hattrick hero Nocerino with Cassano)
Our squad travels to the capital to take on Barcelona wannabees A.S Roma this evening in one of two mouth watering clashes today.League leaders Juventus take on Inter in the derby d'Italia later on.
Coming off of the relatively comfortable 4-1 midweek win over Parma,I believe the team would be in high spirits for this game at a ground we haven't won at in years.Last season's Scuddetto was sealed there, but it was a banal goalless draw which just streched our run of poor results the Stadio Olimpico. The team has built up a nice run of results recently and a win would be nice to consolidate the return to form and keep Juventus in sight, but it is for much more than that that we need a win.
Our poor start to the season occured due to many factors:the tall injury list, lack of form but also due to an unusually tough draw in the opening weeks of the season. We met Lazio,Juventus,Udinese, and Napoli in that period and never once did we pick up maximum points.Since the resurgence, the only team of note we've met were Palermo, and they just didn't show up for that game.We need this win,to convince if no one at least ourselves that we are well and truly back and can hang with the big boys once again!!
PERSONNEL:
Seedorf is purported to have returned to training but didn't make the squad.Mexes has picked up a hand fracture or something, that's what Allegri said so he's also out.Pato and Antonini are out, whilst Inzaghi didn't make the squad,AGAIN!.Here's the list of players called up by Allegri...
Abbiati, Amelia, Roma, Abate, Bonera, Nesta, Taiwo, Thiago Silva, Zambrotta, Yepes, Ambrosini, Aquilani, Boateng, Emanuelson, Nocerino, Van Bommel, Cassano, El Shaarawy, Ibrahimovic, Robinho.
M PROJECTED LINE-UP:

MISCELLANEOUS:
Nocerino hit a hattrick in midweek, that was the 2nd hattrick by a Milan midfielder in 3 days.I've heard many people saying they are banking on another one this week, from Aquilani maybe;that should be some sort of record IF it happens.Cassano has also been on fire lately,he's provided 4 assists in the last two games;AMAZING!!We all hope he can keep this form up all the way to Euro 2012.Hopefully we would pick up a win and our crosstown brothers would do us a favour @ San Siro.FORZA MILAN!!!
