Kevin Prince Boateng is something of an enigma.The quintessential footballer;a prima donna with movie star looks.Born to a Ghanaian father and a German mother,Kevin has had a hard time everywhere he's turned.He's viewed as too much of a showman and not enough of a footballer.
Prince is no stranger to controvesy.He had difficult periods at Tottenham Hotspur and had personal problems which received too much publicity.Even his choice of a national side was problematic as he opted for Germany before choosing Ghana when it became obvious he had no future with Germany.So even down here in Ghana he's viewed with suspicion,compounded by his refusal/inability to honour some games for Ghana since the World Cup.
Most Milan fans have had a hard time accepting him into our fold.This is most especially because of where Allegri places him on the field.The trequartista role is supposed to be played by a skillful person with an eye for the killer pass and whose footballing abilities are easy on the eye,Prince isn't that kind of player.I go around various Milan fan sites and people continually bash him despite his amazing work ethic and tremendous pace and power.
Boateng would never be the Kaka we are yearning for.He's got his own style and for some strange reason Allegri prefers that.We just have to go along with that and hope for performances like yesterday's from him all the time.We gain nothing by all those criticisms and just detract from the team we all love.
For once let Prince find a home without controvesy:After all he gave us the moonwalk...
